Is there any manga / anime where the character has a "dark" side to them?

Like Naruto with his Kyuubi, or Tsukune from Rosario + Vampire with his lackey. You know, where they are almost defeated or dead, and suddenly the dark side takes over and they put all badass and stuff lol. Some other that are a bit like that in mono and Taisuke Kengo Live: The final evolution. Oh, and 666 Satan Jio. If anyone knows more, then please tell me!

These are the best responses and some no * spoiler * description of their alter egos (a kind of non-spoiler): Bleach, Ichigo and "Hichigo" ... I can not say too much Kurohime - Dark Zero and Zero .... once again can not say anything, "Kurohime Kurohime .... it is linked to a goddess .. but do not want to get too deep into that Samurai Deeper Kyo - This is the epic, and can kill large quantities, excessive violence and cursing very well Trigun - Vash kind of has a dark side .... sort of blank slate "Just to read, trust me (be careful, its short and ends too fast) Reborn - The main guys have an alter-ego "of sorts are so many ..... I Reborn like a lot going for though! =)
